Oil Painting Inspired by Light, Mood and Experience

I paint what moves me.  It might be an interesting composition, an image triggered by memory, or the challenge of capturing a feeling, but it is always about the light.  Light impacts color, composition, my moods, and my art.

The following quotation is on a wall of the Denver Art Museum:

“The object of art is not to reproduce reality,
but to create a reality of the same intensity.”

-Alberto Giacometti

This thought spoke to me.  I believe it to be true.

It is a great challenge to be able to create, while experiencing life, and to express these experiences through my painting. Thank you for taking the time to explore my adventure with me!
